If you're scrolling for things to do in Dubai this weekend, skip the endless top 50 listicles; there are only three events worth rearranging your Friday night for, and one of them closes for good on Friday. 1. MINT Market's Terra Family Weekend
If you've got kids aged five to fourteen and a Saturday to burn, head to Terra. Sustainability Pavilion at Expo City Dubai for MINT Market from 22nd to 23rd of August, 10 am-6 pm. This is not a general children’s area; it is dedicated only to board games. Children will be able to learn about the history and workings of playing through interactive games, seminars, and lectures without being exposed to electronic screens.
The tickets are priced at Dh50 per person, and children under 12 can enter for free, which is fairly cheap considering that it is a whole day inside in the middle of hot August in Dubai. Terra has covered gardens and an air-conditioned pavilion, making it one of the most pleasant experiences among others listed above.

2. Khali Balak Men RISO at Tashkeel - Your Last Chance
Here's the one people will miss if they don't act fast: Khali Balak Men RISO, Tashkeel's group exhibition celebrating risograph printing, closes on Friday, August 21 - meaning this weekend's Saturday and Sunday fall after it wraps up. If you want to catch it, Friday is your only window, and the gallery is open until 10 pm that day, so an after-work visit works fine.
The title borrows from the Egyptian comedy series Khali Balak Men Zizi and loosely translates to take care of Riso. A total of ten artists and designers who are based in the United Arab Emirates present their posters, prints and experimental work which embrace the characteristic flaws of the Risograph process such as visible texture, color layer misalignment among others. The exhibition is open to all at no cost, and it is held at Tashkeel’s Nad Al Sheba 1.
Tashkeel's Nad Al Sheba space is easy to miss if you're relying on Google Maps alone, it sits within a villa compound off Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Street, so build in an extra ten minutes to find parking and the entrance.

3. Sonic Majlis, Session 2: Tarik Omar x Vinyl Souk DXB
Saturday night belongs to Sonic Majlis, Vinyl Souk's intimate listening-session series, back for its second edition at Lulu & The Beanstalk inside ICD Brookfield Place, DIFC, from 5 to 9 pm. This time the selector's chair goes to Tarik Omar, who'll walk the room through more than 20 years behind the decks, starting, fittingly, with the very first record he ever played at his first gig.
This isn't a club night. It's part listening session, part storytelling, part what Vinyl Souk calls sonic collage; every record gets a story attached, a place or person it marks. Tickets are AED 80 and include a drink, but capacity is limited, so book ahead through Vinyl Souk's site rather than showing up and hoping.
DIFC gets a proper post-work crowd on Saturdays even in summer, so if you're driving in from outside the area, valet at ICD Brookfield Place rather than circling for street parking - it'll save you the 15 minutes you'd rather spend inside listening.

4. Alan Walker Live at Coca-Cola Arena
The Norwegian DJ and producer behind global hits like "Faded," "Alone" and "Sing Me to Sleep" headlines FREQUENCY 971 at Coca-Cola Arena on Saturday night, backed by UAE favourites DJ Bliss and DJ Slim. It's Walker's first Dubai headline arena show. He played UNTOLD Dubai last November as part of a festival lineup, but this is a full evening built entirely around his own set, with the large-scale visuals and production his live shows are known for.
Coca-Cola Arena sits in City Walk, one of the easier big venues to reach if you're coming from Downtown or Jumeirah, but with doors at 8:30 pm on a Saturday, get there early, or you'll be queuing through the opening sets.
